Width first, height second. 12 × 16 in means twelve wide and sixteen tall, a portrait piece.

The order
Every size is width × height in inches. Most pieces are portrait; a listing like 36 × 24 would be landscape.
Framed
The listed size is the paper inside; the frame adds a border, so the outer size runs slightly larger. Outer dimensions are on each product page.

Same sofa, same wall.

Small alone · 12 × 16Too small above a full sofa. Save it for small walls or groups.

Large alone · 24 × 36Carries the wall by itself.

How to read this: the sofa is drawn at its real 84 in width, art in true proportion, hung 6 to 10 in above the back.

Room by room

Every drawing on this page uses one scale, so the same print is the same size everywhere. Hang the center of any piece 57 to 60 inches off the floor, about eye level. Dashed markers show the 6 to 10 in gap above furniture.

Measure and mark

Five minutes with painter's tape beats a guess every time.

  1. 01

    The tape outline

Tape a rectangle of the exact size on the wall and live with it for a day.

  2. 02

    Paper templates for groups

Cut craft paper to each size, tape the set, slide it around until it clicks.

  3. 03

    Check the obstacles

Switches, outlets, vents, and door swings all claim wall space.

  4. 04

    View from where you sit

Step back 8 to 10 feet. The size that works from across the room is the one to order.

  5. 05

    Mark the nail

Center at 57 to 60 inches. Add half the art's height for the top edge, subtract the hook distance, one pencil dot, one nail. When in doubt, hang lower.
