Terms of service
Last updated: September 4, 2026
Welcome to VerdantStory. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and VerdantStory (“VerdantStory,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for your use of https://verdantstory.com and any related pages we operate (the “Site”).
The Site is hosted and checkout is processed through Fourthwall. These Terms cover your relationship with VerdantStory. Payment processing, fraud screening, and some checkout features are also subject to Fourthwall’s terms.
Please read these Terms and our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Returns & FAQ before you order.
By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Who we are and what we sell
VerdantStory is a small shop. We sell made-to-order apparel and wall art with nature-inspired designs (the “Products”). We design the artwork. Production partners make, pack, and ship the physical item after you order it.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 to browse the Site. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. If you order on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.
3. Accounts
You can browse and check out without a VerdantStory account. If you create an account through the Site, you are responsible for the information you submit and for activity under that account. Keep your login details private. Tell us at the email on our Contact page if you think the account is no longer secure.
4. Orders, prices, and payment
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars and may change at any time before you complete checkout. The price you pay is the price displayed when you place the order, plus any taxes and shipping shown at checkout.
Promotional codes and sale prices apply only as stated and may not be combined unless we say so.
You authorize us and our payment processors to charge the payment method you provide for the order total, including taxes and shipping. We or our processors may pre-authorize your card to confirm it can cover the purchase.
An order is an offer to buy. We may decline or cancel an order if an item cannot be fulfilled, if there is an obvious pricing error, if we suspect fraud, or if we cannot ship to the address you gave. If we cancel after payment, we will refund the amount charged for that order.
5. Made to order
Products are made after you order them. We do not keep a warehouse of finished goods. Colors on screen can differ from the finished piece. Artwork, mockups, and descriptions are meant to show the design; they are not a guarantee of exact color or scale.
Production and delivery times are estimates. See our Shipping Policy for current windows. You can cancel or change an order approximately within 2 hours of placing it, before production starts. Once production has started, the order cannot be changed or canceled. After delivery, quality issues are handled under Section 7.
6. Shipping
We ship according to the Shipping Policy on the Site and the options shown at checkout. Free shipping applies only where we say it does (currently within the United States, unless a product page says otherwise).
You are responsible for providing a complete, accurate shipping address. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers the package to that address, or as otherwise required by law.
Tracking may pause for a few days when a shipment moves from one carrier to another. Lost or delayed packages are handled as described in the Shipping Policy and Returns & FAQ.
International orders, where offered, may incur customs duties, taxes, or fees charged by your country. Those charges are yours.
7. Returns, quality issues, and refunds
Because items are made to order, we do not accept returns, replacements, or refunds for a change of mind, an unwanted gift, a design you no longer want, a color that looks different on your screen, or a size that does not fit. Check the size guide on the product page before you order.
If an item arrives damaged, misprinted, or with a visible quality defect, or if you received the wrong item or a different size than the one you ordered, contact us through the Contact page within 30 days of delivery. Include your order number and clear photos of the issue on a flat, well-lit surface. You do not need to ship the original item back. After we verify the claim, we will replace the item, or refund it if we cannot replace it.
Refunds go back to the original payment method. Timing depends on your bank or payment provider.
Tips, donations, or similar optional amounts, if ever collected at checkout, are not refundable once paid.
This section does not limit any non-waivable rights you have under the law where you live.
8. Sustainability statements
Any statement about materials, certifications, shipping, or trees funded with a sale is described on the relevant product page and on our Sustainability page. Those statements are not a promise that an order is carbon-neutral, fully recycled, or certified end-to-end. Certifications apply only where a product page names them. Tree funding does not offset printing or shipping in full.
9. Intellectual property
The Site, our name, logo, product photos, and original artwork are owned by VerdantStory or our licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable license to use the Site for browsing and ordering for personal use.
You may not copy, scrape, resell, or commercially reuse our designs, product photos, or site content without written permission. Buying a Product gives you the physical item. It does not transfer copyright in the artwork. You may not reproduce our designs on other goods or use them as if they were stock art.
If you send us comments or ideas, you give us permission to use them without payment or credit.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Site for anything illegal
- interfere with the Site, its security, or other visitors
- scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the Site except where the law allows
- submit false checkout or contact information
- impersonate anyone or misuse another person’s payment method
- upload malware or unsolicited advertising
We may refuse service, cancel orders, or block access if we reasonably believe these rules were broken.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we and our vendors (including Fourthwall) collect and use personal information. It is part of these Terms.
By using the Site you consent to electronic notices from us, including order and account email. Those emails satisfy any legal requirement that notices be in writing.
12. Third-party services
The Site may link to Tree-Nation, social platforms, payment providers, and other third parties. Those services have their own terms. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
13. Changes to the Site or these Terms
We may update Products, prices, features, or these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we revise this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the new Terms for future visits and orders. Existing orders stay under the Terms in effect when you placed them, unless the law requires otherwise.
We may suspend or stop the Site. We are not liable for discontinuing a feature or Product, except that we will still fulfill or refund accepted orders as required by these Terms.
14. Disclaimer
Except for the quality-issue commitment in Section 7 and any warranty the law does not allow us to limit, the Site and Products are provided as available. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free listings, or that a Product will meet a particular purpose beyond what the listing describes.
To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
15. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VerdantStory and its owners, workers, and vendors (including Fourthwall as platform provider) are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from the Site or an order.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site or a Product is limited to the amount you paid us for the Product at issue.
Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows.
16. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify VerdantStory and its owners, workers, and vendors against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else’s rights, except to the extent we caused the harm.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California in special and the United States in general, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in San Francisco County, California, except that either of us may seek injunctive relief in any court for misuse of intellectual property or the Site.
If you have non-waivable consumer rights in your home state or country, those rights still apply.
18. International visitors
The Site is aimed at customers in the United States. We do not promise that it is appropriate or available everywhere. You may not use the Site where that use is illegal.
19. General
These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Returns & FAQ, are the full agreement between you and VerdantStory for the Site. If one part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a transfer of the shop.
“Including” means “including but not limited to.”
